Mary Marshall joined Louisiana Tech University’s School of Accountancy faculty in 2018 after completing her doctoral studies at the University of South Carolina. She also holds Master of Public Administration and Master of Accountancy degrees from Wichita State University, and bachelor’s degrees in Accounting and Management from Oklahoma State University. Her research focuses primarily on understanding the early career experience in public accounting and investigating taxpayer responses to tax administration and policy, mainly through experimental and survey methods. Her work is published in Accounting Horizons and The Journal of the American Taxation Association. She enjoys bringing her research into the classroom, where she currently teaches undergraduate financial accounting and graduate tax courses. Marshall is actively involved as a member of the organizing committee for the Behavioral Tax Symposium and enjoys contributing to conference and journal activities for both ABO and the ATA. Prior to returning to academia, Marshall worked in the tax practice at Grant Thornton and as a municipal budget analyst for the City of Derby, Kansas.
